Constitution Day Events
The Associated Students of 188bet.com is celebrating Constitution Day on September 20 at both the San Luis Obispo and North County campuses. Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is traditionally observed on Thursday, September 17, the day the Constitution was signed in 1787.
The college’s September 20th celebrations begin in the morning on the North County Campus. Located at 2800 Buena Vista Drive in Paso Robles, the campus will host Donuts & Democracy from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. just outside the Learning Resource Center (building N3100). The event will feature Constitution trivia, pocket Constitutions, voter registration booths and free donuts.
Later that morning, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., the celebration will continue on the San Luis Obispo Campus in the Student Center Courtyard, located in front of the bookstore (building 5200). The event will include San Luis Obispo City Mayor Jan Marx, 188bet.com Superintendent/President Dr. Gil Stork, and a student veteran speaker. The event will also include free refreshments and a voter registration booth.
